Ben Sheppard's Ironman Challenge!
7 July 2017, 11:13 | Updated: 11 July 2017, 16:59
Ben Sheppard thinks he’s tough. So, he’s taking on his biggest challenge yet by doing an Ironman - a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, topped off with a marathon 26.2 mile run…
Ben will be taking on his very first, and probably only, Ironman challenge in Berlin, Germany on Sunday 13th August, completing three huge events in in just one day for Global’s Make Some Noise.
And yes, that is all three challenges, in just one day! Ben will have to complete a swim of 2.4 miles, immediately followed by a cycle of 112 miles, and then find the energy and motivation to complete a full marathon, that’s a 26.2 mile run.
Why is he putting himself through this? To raise money for Capital’s very own charity, Global’s Make Some Noise, which supports brilliant small charities across the UK, helping youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.
Projects just like Creatasmile, which is based right here in North Wales, and supports children and young people living with disabilities or special educational needs,. The charity provides fun sessions for all the family, where children and young people with disabilities can play, be themselves, and make friendships with other people in the same situation.
So come on, show Ben your support in this epic challenge!
