‘We Don’t Do Average - Gateshead College’ Competition on Capital North East, September 2016

RULES

  1. The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at capitalfm.com (the “Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Global (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions) apply to ‘We Don’t Do Average - Gateshead College’ radio competition (the “Competition") which will run on Friday 8th September 2016 on Capital North East.
  2. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.

Details of the Competition:

  1. To enter the Competition an Entrant, send a text message with the word “ENTER” to 83958 (the “Text Message Line”). Text messages will be charged at standard network rates.  The opening and closing times of the Text Message Line will be given out on air.
  2. An entrant will be chosen at random and be brought to air. The caller will automatically win the ‘average prize’ as described below.
  3. The entrant will then have the opportunity to gamble to win the ‘outstanding prize’ as described below. The entrant will then take part in a timed challenge, if they complete the task they win the outstanding prize, however, if they don’t, they lose everything. The presenter’s decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.
  4. If caller number one fails chooses to gamble and fails to win the prize then the presenter will move on to the next caller, and so on and so forth until one random entrant completes the timed challenge. The second callers may use answers already given.
  5. All Entrants selected to play on air will be required to talk to the presenter(s) and the conversation may be recorded and played on-air. If the caller fails to answer a return call from Global, is driving at the time of the call and is unable to pull over, cannot continue the call for any reason or the phone line is not of a suitable quality for broadcast (at the discretion of the producer) the call may be terminated and another Entrant selected at random.

Eligibility:

  1. Entrants must be 16 years or older. Employees of Global Radio and Gateshead College are ineligible to enter
  2. Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition
  3. Entrants must live in the Capital North East TSA (NE, SR, DH, DL or TS postal areas).

Prize:

9.    There will be 1 x Prize to be won in each competition round.

10.   The prize will be either the average prize or the outstanding prize:

Average Prize – Escape Newcastle with your mates (to the value of £100)

Outstanding Prize – Escape the UK for a long weekend in New York (Flights only. Prize is up to the value of £1,060 which is based on flying from Newcastle with Jet2 to New York Newark on Thurs 1st Dec to Mon 5th Dec 2017. No hold baggage is included. Subject to availability)

11.    Global reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize at its absolute discretion.
