Everyone thinks Shay Mitchell's character Peach Salinger deserved more in Netflix's 'You'

Shay Mitchell's character Peach Salinger was the unsung hero of YOU...
If you've been anywhere near the internet recently, you've probably heard of YOU. The TV show came out on Lifetime in the US in September last year but has recently received a newfound wave of attention thanks to it being added to Netflix at the end of December. It's a compelling, psychological thriller starring the famous Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) so it's no wonder that people are absolutely loving it.
19 huge differences between Netflix's 'You' and the book it's based on
The premise of the series is simple. Joe Goldberg, a charming bookstore owner, meets Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, by chance in his shop and immediately falls for her. He then attempts to win her over. There's just one little catch. Joe is a stalker and he will go to any lengths to be with Beck. Yeah. He is creepy af. There's one character everyone loves though and that's Peach Salinger.
SPOILERS BELOW.
Peach, for those of you who don't know, is the baddest bitch of the YOU universe. Acted by the talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), she is Beck's closest friend in the series and she has it out for Joe from the get-go. She also delivers the funniest lines and is gorgeous throughout so it adds up that fans adore her.
Of course Peach isn't without flaws. She is classist, morally corrupt and lowkey a stalker (nobody's perfect) but she is not a murderer. Peach is obsessed with Beck (she is a closeted lesbian and her laptop is filled with illicit photos of Beck that she shouldn't have) so, in real life, you would steer clear of her but in YOU she is actually one of the more likeable chracters.
This is what makes her death all the more upsetting. She was so close to exposing Joe and yet he shoots her and makes it look like she committed suicide. Our fave deserved so much more. Paris was never going to happen (Beck isn't queer) but Peach could have saved Beck and changed the whole plot. Seriously, Season 2 is going to be worse off without her.
With that in mind, we've gathered together just a few of the funniest Peach appreciation tweets.
First things first Peach is the Gossip Girl character we never knew we needed.
I wish Peach from "You" was in "Gossip Girl" she would have kicked Serena's ass. She is the poc rich bitch socialite that show needed
