People think Jordan Peele's 'Us' and 'Get Out' are in the same cinematic universe

Is there really a crossover between Us and Get Out?!
Universal just dropped the first trailer for horror movie Us and we're already scared stiff. What better way to celebrate the holidays, right? Us is one of the most anticipated films of 2019 and a follow-up to Jordan Peele's Get Out, and the theories that the two movies are connected are already giving us chills. Starring Black Panther's Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, the chilling tale follows a family's trip to their beach house which takes a sinister turn when they find themselves terrorised by four mysterious figures that look exactly like them.
The trailer is set to Luniz's 1995 hit 'I Got 5 on It' (seriously, how did this song become so creepy all of a sudden!?) and it seems that there's only one way for the family to escape their imposters, called the Tethered, who won't stop until they kill them.
Even though Peele importantly used a black family as the lead characters, Us is not about race like Get Out, but people think the two are somehow connected. "I've put some Easter Eggs in there and I'll probably continue to weave in the universe in my next movie," Peele told Kevin McCarthy while being interviewed about Get Out in 2017.
Here's some of the wild theories that actually make a lot of sense.
Why do I have a feeling that Get Out & Us exist in the same universe. Like there’s there’s this entire universe of just messed up events taking place.

Maybe the new #Us trailer’s “I got 5 on it” song has a double meaning to the fact that the families in Get Out were bidding on the bodies, meaning the family in the trailer are really the white people from the last movie 👀

There are some wild theories for Jordan Peele's new movie Us. The best one I read was that its low key a sequel to Get Out & that the family is actually white people in their new bodies and the family coming to get them is the original family escaped from the sunken place. By now I’m sure we’ve all seen the shared imagery between “Get Out” and “Us”.....something about that long road to terror pic.twitter.com/6WoDEMyRiG

What if Chris Washington from Get Out arrives to save the family in #UsMovie?

Hey @JordanPeele, the first movie was titled "Get Out" and now the second one is "US." You telling "US" to "Get Out" or what? Lol My bad, Christmas got me all over the place.

Our first glimpse at white rabbit imagery. Looks like rabbits are going to be to Us as deer were to Get Out.

Does this have to do with going down the rabbit hole/following the white rabbit? The Tethered multiplying? #USMovie #WatchYourself pic.twitter.com/dUGhhf0NuU
Obviously, everything is under wraps at the moment so we'll have to wait until March 15, 2019 before we find out the real tea. All we know is that we smell another Oscar on the horizon for Peele. Coincidence? We think not.
