You'll want to add this to your Netflix queue before it has even finished filming.
Production has officially started on Netflix's upcoming Shakespeare inspired movie called The King. The project, due on Netflix in 2019, will see Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and Lily-Rose Depp in lead roles in the film based on Henry IV and V.
Timothée Chalamet, of course, won over audiences in last year's Call Me By Your Name, earning multiple prestigious award nominations for his portrayal of Elio Perlman.
The King will see Chalamet take on the role of Hal, a disgraced prince who must "learn what it means to be a king" with the help of close friend Falstaff (Joel Edgerton).
I think we can all admit that Timothée already has a princely air about him so we suspect this will work out perfectly.
Robert Pattison is set to play another major role, the Dauphine (French prince). Robert is fresh off of recent projects including last year's Good Time and the well received 2018 Sundance premiered film, Damsel.
Add another exciting name to the bunch. Lily-Rose Depp (daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis) will play Princess Catherine. Lily-Rose is fluent in both English and French so we anticipate her getting to show off her language skills in the film, as well.
Tom Glynn-Carney, Ben Mendelsohn, Sean Harris, and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie will also feature in the film written by Joe Edgerton and David Michôd.
The King will arrive on Netflix in 2019.
