The original Call Me By Your Name was released in 2017, and fans have since been begging for a sequel, after the follow-up book, Find Me, came out in 2019. But there isn't much longer to wait...
Timothée Chalamet stans, our time has finally come, because Call Me By Your Name director, Luca Guadagnino, has confirmed our favourite floppy-haired actor, along with Armie Harmer, are both confirmed for the sequel.
In fact, the whole cast will be returning for the second instalment of the groundbreaking romance story, after fans begged for another movie following the release of 'Find Me' - the follow up novel in the original series last year.

Confirming the news in an interview with Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, the Oscar-nominated director said: “I was going to America to meet a writer I love very much, whose name I don’t want to mention, to talk about the sequel.
“Of course, it’s a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel, and the other actors, they will all be in the new film.”
Things we love to see: it.

Naturally, due to the current coronavirus situation, things are on hold for now, but things could be put back into action pretty much as soon as things get back to normal, as Timothée himself told Time that André Aciman, the books author, is "comfortable with a sequel being made."
The 24-year-old was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for the original movie, and the story which follows the summer romance between Elio and doctoral student Oliver (Hammer), stole our hearts instantly.
However, the sequel will be 10-20 years ahead of where the first left off, finding both characters at very different places in their lives, and given the current climate, we're predicting a release date in 2022.
Unfortunately, despite confirming he'll do it. Armie himself has said that he thinks we're "setting ourselves up for disappointment" as nothing will match up to the first - and while we somewhat agree it's a risk, we absolutely want to see the fate of our favourite fictional couple.
We're speaking this into the universe now before it's too late: PLEASE DON'T BREAK THEM UP.
