The Rock has said the interview was "100% false".
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has now claimed an interview where he reportedly dragged the "snowflake generation" for taking things too seriously was "fake".
If you're not clued up, generation snowflake is the buzz word that disgruntled baby boomers use against millennials who they view to be super sensitive, can't take a joke, and eat avocados all day long. Warning – try not to get offended.
The Rock left a lot of people triggered when he reflected on modern society during an alleged interview with the Daily Star. "So many good people fought for freedom and equality – but this generation are looking for a reason to be offended," he explained.
"If you are not agreeing with them then they are offended – and that is not what so many great men and women fought for. We thankfully now live in a world that has progressed over the last 30 or 40 years. People can be who they want, be with who they want, and live how they want."
He added: "That can only be a good thing – but generation snowflake or, whatever you want to call them, are actually putting us backwards."

When the person you look up to, who is the reason for your hard work, work ethic, determination to achieve goals, & always push to be the better version of yourself, says that your entire generation;

"generation snowflake are actually putting us backwards"
kinda breaks you
@TheRock has lost all of my respect. while ‘generation snowflake’, as you so ignorantly put it, is trying to stop school shootings and prevent anti-minority legislation to protect ourselves, cishet male wrestlers are complaining about how we’re moving the world backward.

Me personally, yea. I’m over snowflake culture but I know exactly why it’s here. I know my privileges (the few that I have) and I recognize that others that aren’t me are fighting everyday to actually just BE. Your comments @TheRock are insensitive.

However, The Rock has now claimed that the interview didn't even take place. In a video posted on his Instagram account, the Baywatch actor decided to set the record straight. "Earlier today, online, an interview dropped with me — apparently was with me, where I was insulting and criticising millennials," he began.
"The interview never took place. Never happened. Never said any of those words. Completely untrue. One hundred per cent fabricated. I was quite baffled when I woke up this morning. I've gained such a great trust and equity with all you guys, all around the world over the years, and you know it’s not a real DJ [Dwayne Johnson] interview if I'm ever insulting a group, a generation or anyone because that’s not me."
He added: "That's not who I am and that’s not what we do. So, to the millennials, the interview never happened. To the plurals, the baby-boomers, the snowflake generation, I don't even know where that term came from, the tequila generation, that's the generation I just started, that's a good one, you want to join it, I always encourage empathy, I encourage growth, most importantly I encourage everyone to be who they want to be."
