The Crown's Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin talk bringing their nans on dates with them
"Good morning to everyone except Prince Charles"
The Crown returned for its fourth season yesterday (Nov 15) and fans are furious with the real-life Prince Charles following the show's portrayal of his relationship with Princess Diana.
While the show does include some historical inaccuracies, fans, who were too young or not yet born, are learning about the tumultuous relationship Charles and Diana had, with many expressing shock at Charles treatment towards his young wife.
Many are also drawing parallels between how Diana and Meghan Markle, who married Diana's son Harry, have been treated by the British Royal family.

The fourth season of The Crown is a raw and often uncomfortable look at Charles and Diana's relationship, played by Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin, starting from when they first met when Diana was just 16 and Charles was 29, through to their marriage four years later when she was 20, and the birth of their two children, William and Harry.
The list of grievances that fans have seized upon after watching the show include the age difference between them both, Charles' long affair with Camilla Parker Bowles (now his wife), Charles' jealousy as her popularity rocketed around the world, and the lack of compassion toward Diana as she struggled with an eating disorder.
The wider Royal Family don't come off lightly either, as they are portrayed as being cold, jealous and unforgiving towards Diana.

Me wondering where the fuck Prince Charles got the audacity to accuse Diana of “hurting Camilla” when Camilla and Charles are the ones who’ve been committing adultery and treating Diana like garbage for 11 whole years? #TheCrown pic.twitter.com/a6dbnQ9rJ8

When PopBuzz spoke to Josh and Emma about Charles and Diana's relationship, Josh believes that the show does try to show a balanced picture of their relationship.
"There's so much love in this series between the two of them. I mean, I say so much, there's more pain. [In] the moment's of love, you really fight for them.
"We both believe very strongly that there was love there, there was great affection for each other and that they did fight for that marriage, so that's the big thing that I took away. I don't believe it's as straight forward as they were doomed to fail."
