Supernatural's Jensen Ackles is already teasing a revival after season 15

Ackles says he doesn't think the show "is ever going to be over" and that they're "just going to go away for a while."
As we all know, Supernatural will be coming to an end after 15 season on The CW in 2020. It was announced in March by Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in a tearful video that they, and the rest of the production team, had come to the decision to end the show.
Billed as the final season, the cast have been out promoting the show at Comic-Con and various Television Critics Association panels but while there are currently no spin-offs planned (as per CW boss Mark Pedowitz), Jensen seems to think that the Winchester brothers' journey is far from over...

As reported by TVLine, when asked about the Supernatural universe going beyond the series finale episode on a recent panel, Jensen teased that “it’s a long journey that I don’t think is ever going to be over...I think we’re just going to go away for a while. For how long, I don’t know.”
So uhhh, could we one day eventually get more Supernatural? With Dean and Sam and Castiel?
Jensen's statement was pretty vague but sounded quite promising, right? Even when he was asked to clarify his statement, he explained: “I’m not ready to close doors or burn bridges — that would be foolish. Is something in the works? No. Am I open to having a conversation in the future? Why not?"
Even more juicier than that...Jared Padelecki said that he “hope[s] we see more of the Supernatural universe,” and also revealed to various outlets at San Diego Comic-Con that him and Jensen had spoken about doing another couple of seasons.
"When Jensen got to Vancouver two weeks ago, I had a text message from him saying, 'Man, I just been back in Vancouver. I feel like we could do two more years,'" Jared said. "And I was like, 'Let's talk man!'" (via YouTube)

Season 15 of Supernatural starts on October 10th.
The final season will also receive a full 20-episode run and will end on their terms (which is always better than being cancelled out of the blue). That means there'll be no rushed storylines and the writers - and actors - can work towards a fitting and moving series finale for the beloved characters.
Until they return for season 16 and 17, that is. Aha ha just kidding... Unless?
