"We're not in Hawkins anymore"
Nerds, it's official. Stranger Things 4 is coming. It's happening. It's confirmed. And now all that's left to do is FIND HOPPER. (That's if he's alive of course, which he totally is. He's either in the Upside Down, or he's the American in Russia... Right? RIGHT?)
The official Stranger Things Twitter account just released (Sept 30th) a teaser video confirming the fourth season. In the video, a sign saying 'Welcome to Hawkins' can be seen in the Upside Down, and then the words "We're not in Hawkins anymore" flash up on screen. Interestingly, the backing music is provided by Westminster Chimes, used by a number of places around the world, but most famously associated with Big Ben in the UK.

Deadline also confirmed that the show's creators, The Duffer Brothers, have signed a "big, multi-year film and series" deal with Netflix. According to industry sources, the deal could be similar to the nine-figure deal Netflix signed with the Game of Thrones creators.

In a press release for the fourth season, it says: “The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. “We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”
"We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix. Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show -- and forever changed our lives. From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together -- beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!"
There's been several reports (including one from Mrs Wheeler herself, Cara Buono) that season 4 is scheduled to start filming in October 2019. There's been no official confirmation of that yet but seeing as Netflix have renewed the show, it's likely filming will start soon.
Details are, of course, under wraps about the next season but season 4 will probably focus on three pretty storylines:
1) The Russians and how they got that bloody Demogorgon.
2) Eleven and her powers - will she ever get them back?!
And 3) Who is the American prisoner and is Jim Hopper still alive, God DAMN it?
The next season will also likely explore the new Byers family dynamic with El moving into their new house. That will also take us outside of Hawkins which means the world we know and love is about to get bigger, and potentially even more dangerous.
There will no doubt be more Erica and more Robin (and by extension, more Robin and Steve friendship). Dustin's girlfriend Suzie could also make a bigger appearance in season 4 too.

There's also no word on what year season 4 will be set in but given that each season seems to have progressed a year (1983, 1984 and 1985), we could find ourselves at some point in 1986 which is just a few months away from when season 3 ended. If that's the case, get ready for a potential Winona Ryder timeline plot hole.
That's all we know for now... I'm already
