It's official. Stranger Things is back for season 3 and it's bigger and better than ever. In addition to its distinctive synth-driven score, Stranger Things season 3 takes us all the way back to the 1980s with an incredible soundtrack, jam packed with hits you'll recognise.
The music from Stranger Things season 3 comes through with classics from Madonna, Foreigner, Peter Gabriel and more. The soundtrack also provides the perfect backdrop for all the unbelievable drama that goes down this season.

You thought the end of Stranger Things season 2 meant the Mind Flayer was defeated, however, season 3 reels us back in with an absolutely terrifying new take on the beast: The Flayed. Priah Ferguson returns as Lucas' quick-witted little sister, Erica. And Maya Hawke makes her Stranger Things debut as Robin, Steve's Scoops Ahoy co-worker.

Stranger Things season 3 episode 1 songs:
In episode 1 of Stranger Things 3, we return to Hawkins, Indiana just before July 4th and some things have definitely changed. First of all, Eleven and Mike are a fully fledged couple, Dustin has been away at camp and has a new girlfriend named Suzie and, oh yeah, a group of very shady Russians are up no good in a super secret underground lab. You know, just casual stuff.
1) The Red Army Choir - 'The Red Army Is The Strongest'
Setting the tone for the season, 'The Red Army Is The Strong' is the Russian song that plays in the beginning of the episode when the Russian lab is burning.
2) Corey Hart - 'Never Surrender'
'Never Surrender' by Corey Hart is the song playing on Eleven's yellow boom box when and she and Mike are kissing on her bed.
3) Gentlemen Afterdark - 'Open The Door'
'Open The Door' by Gentlmen Jack is the song playing when Nancy wakes up late and sneaks out of Jonathan's window in the morning.
4) The Stray Cats - 'Rock This Town'
'Rock This Town' is the song that plays when everyone is hanging out at the local pool, including Mrs. Wheeler and the other moms.
5) The Cars - 'Movin' in Stereo'
'Moving In Stereo' by The Cars is the song that plays when Heather walks in and Billy arrives at the pool for his lifeguard shift and says "Dig the new suit Mrs. Wheeler..."
6) Huey Lewis And The News - 'Workin' For A Livin''
'Workin' For A Livin'' is the Huey Lewis and The News song that plays when Nancy shows up at the newsroom with everyone's lunches.
7) Patsy Cline - 'She's Got You'
This song plays in Mevald's General Store when Hopper asks Joyce out for dinner. She says she has plans before walking away as he stares at her.
8) Foreigner - 'Hot Blooded'
This track plays when Billy is watching Mrs. Wheeler swim in the pool and starts lusting after her.
9) REO Speedwagon - 'Can't Fight This Feeling'
'Can't Fight This Feeling' by REO Speedwagon is the song playing when Eleven and Mike are kissing and Hopper is rehearsing how to talk to them about boundaries.
10) Cutting Crew - '(I Just) Died In Your Arms'
'Died In Your Arms' by Cutting Crew is the song playing when Mrs. Wheeler is getting ready for her hot night with Billy.

Stranger Things season 3 episode 2 songs:
After Hopper's speech in episode 1 of Stranger Things 3, episode 2 opens with Mike and Eleven at odds over his decision to keep his distance. Meanwhile, Joyce is investigating the broken magnets and Max brings Eleven shopping at the mall to take her mind off of Mike.

'You Don't Mess Around With Jim' is the song that plays when Hopper is driving down the road singing after successfully scaring Mike away from seeing Eleven.

This is the song playing when Dustin goes to see Steve at the mall while he is working at Scoops Ahoy.
3) Weird Al Yankovic - 'My Bologna'
'My Bologna' is the Weird Al Yankovic parody of 'My Sharona' that plays when Joyce takes her science books to Mr Clarke's house to ask him about the magnets.

The music that plays over the top of Max and Eleven's fashion montage is the iconic Madonna song, from 1984's Like A Virgin.

Stranger Things season 3 Episode 3 songs:
Eleven uses her powers to spy on Mike, Lucas, and Will and accidentally stumbles across trouble involving Billy. Meanwhile, Steve and Dustin decide to further investigate the Russian presence at Starcourt Mall. Elsewhere, things with Billy and Heather turn even more violent as they go after her parents.

'Angel' is the song playing when Max is dancing around her room and she and Eleven talking about the boys.
2) Teena Marie - 'Lovergirl'
This track plays when Max and Eleven are playing a spying version of spin the bottle.

Steve and Dustin are spying on the Russians in the mall when this track plays in the episode.

This song plays when Steve and Dustin stumble across an aerobics class in the mall.

Dustin, Erica, Steve, and Robin make it to the Russians' underground lair, meanwhile Hopper, Joyce, and Alexei head to the house of the nearest Russian speaking person they know, Murray Bauman.

Stranger Things season 3 episode 6 songs:
Robin and Steve are captured and tortured by the Russians, and Hopper and Joyce continue to try and get information from Dr. Alexei. Elsewhere, Eleven searches for Billy using her powers and Mike reveals that he has fallen in love with El.

Season 3 comes to a head in "The Battle of Starcourt." Joyce and Hopper take big risks and Dustin enlists Suzie's help for the mission. Plus a heartbreaking ending signals big questions for Stranger Things season 4.
