Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp comes under fire as video surfaces appearing to say the N-word
Noah has insisted that he would "never" use the N-word.
Noah Schnapp has denied using the N-word in a viral video of him singing to Chris Brown and Lil Dicky's track 'Freaky Friday'.
In the video, which was recorded last year, the Stranger Things actor appeared to repeat the offensive slur multiple times while with a group of friends in the back of a car. The clip went viral and the hashtag #NoahSchnappIsOverParty started trending on Twitter.
Noah has claimed that he actually used the word "neighbour" instead of the N-word and issued a statement on his Instagram Story.
He wrote: "hi guys, recently a video from last summer has gotten out of me dancing and singing while singing the word “neighbour” over the n word. i would truly never say the n word and i’m not the type of person. ‘i genuinely have never used that word in my life. using the word 'neighbour' in that song was just something my camp friends and i did.

"I hope you all understand i could never even think about doing that. my friends also would never post a video, or support me, if i was saying a slur without hesitation."
He added: "I apologize for using a replacement word. it is not my place to use one and i should of kept my mouth shut. i understand why it is found offensive and i am so sorry."
This comes only weeks after Noah's Twitter account was hacked and a number of racial slurs were shared from his account. Noah confirmed on Instagram that the messages were not coming from him and he had indeed been hacked.
