Fans are convinced Billy from Stranger Things is related to Zac Efron

Netflix viewers are drawing comparisons between bad boy Billy Hargrove and Hollywood actor, Zac Efron.

Actor Dacre Montgomery returned to our screens recently, as Stranger Things season 3 dropped on Netflix. Not only did his character Billy Hargrove deliver some steamy scenes with Mrs Wheeler actress, Cara Buono, viewers got to learn a bit more about his character's tragic past, and what led him to become such a bully later on.

And while viewers were gripped by the bad boy's harrowing storyline, there was one thing that was distracting them - Dacre's uncanny resemblance to 17 Again actor, Zac Efron.

The revelation isn't new. In fact, there was a whole theory back in season 2 that Billy is actually Zac Efron's real dad. But one Netflix viewer wrote: "I think Billy on Stranger Things is the Dollar Store Zac Efron."

Another added: "Billy from Stranger Things looks like if Zac Efron lived down on the shore."

A third chimed in: "Watching Stranger Things again anyone else think Billy looks like Troy Bolton this is strange."

Here are our favourite reactions to the revelation so far...

On the other hand, some Stranger Things fans insist Montgomery looks like a young Jared Leto.

Others believe Dacre is the love child of both Efron and Leto.
