Our thoughts are with his friends and family...
Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the beloved writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics "died early Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles". The news comes just months after Stan revealed that he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Stan first began working in comics in 1939 and went on to co-create characters including the likes of Spider-Man, the X-Men, Black Panther, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Iron Man and Thor. Without him the Marvel Cinematic Universe would not exist and he was famous for making cameos in the films that his creations inspired.
In the wake of the news of his passing, fans and friends of Stan have reached out via social media to pay their respects to him and send their love and support to those closest to him. MCU stars including the likes of Tom Holland, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth have all shared kind words about the pop culture icon and what he meant to them.
There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy. He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives. Excelsior!!
