Based on the book by Aaron Starmer, the movie is set to go into production later this year.
Two of the stars of Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why are teaming up for a brand new movie adaptation of a popular teen novel.
Hayley Law, who plays your fave pussycat Valerie in The CW drama, will join Katherine Langford, 13RW's Hannah, in Spontaneous, the film adaptation of Aaron Starmer’s novel that is set to be written and directed by Brian Duffield.
According to Deadline, the story is focused on "Mara Carlye (Langford), whose life is forever changed when students in her senior class literally explode for no discernible reason. As students continue to pop like blood-filled balloons and the town descends into both chaos and apathy, Mara and her friends stay close together as they await possible combustion – wondering what part of life is worth living if it might end suddenly. Law will play Tess, the best friend and partner in sarcasm of Mara."
It is set to be a busy year for the two actresses, with Law also appearing in Netflix's upcoming series Altered Carbon and movie The New Romantic. Langford will next be seen on the big screen shortly in the much-anticipated Love, Simon alongside Nick Robinson.
Oh, yeah, and there's more Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why to come as well. Excellent work all round.
