Sonic the Hedgehog is being redesigned after brutal backlash to 'human-like' teeth

Director Jeff Fowler confirms on Twitter that Sonic the Hedgehog redesign will happen, following feedback and criticism from fans on social media.
Sonic the Hedgehog's director, Jeff Fowler, says that "changes" are going to happen, following the response to the film's trailer.
The first full trailer for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film landed this week and the internet had some very strong reactions to the iconic character's physical appearance. After seeing the trailer for the live-action film, some fans were uneasy about Sonic's human-like teeth, while others talked about the proportions of Sonic's body.
In a tweet on Thursday, Fowler said that Paramount and Sega were "fully committed to making this character the best he can be."

Fowler acknowledged that some fans were not "happy with the design" and that many "wanted changes".
Sonic the Hedgehog is slated for a November 8, 2019 premiere and no delays have been announced, as yet. Fowler did not reveal which specific attributes of the character would be altered.
Many fans pointed out that redesigns would likely be tough on the film's animators and urged that special care be taken to ensure the team would not be overworked.
It's ok if you are happy about a change, but don't forget without delaying the movie, the animators have to do overtime to fix the design. People who aren't in the position to decide what to do, they have to work more hours than they should work and that is always a problem.

first and foremost PLEASE make sure your production/creative team is taken care of and isn't pushed past their limit. Their health is what's most important. But if a delay happens and you're able to create a more faithful Sonic, myself & other fans would be OVERJOYED 💖

So far, Paramount Pictures have not commented on the situation beyond Fowler's Twitter statement.
