What happens in Riverdale 4x03? Betty tries to defuse a bomb as Polly returns from The Farm

Just before they attempt to rescue Alice and Polly from The Farm, Betty and Charles end up in grave danger in the trailer for Riverdale season 4, episode 3.

After her mum and sister went missing after ascending with The Farm in the Riverdale season 3 finale, it's make or break for Betty as she and her brother Charles come closer to finding out the truth, but not before coming face to face with their sister Polly... in a bomb vest?!

The next episode of Riverdale, titled 'Dog Day Afternoon', will air on Wednesday October 23rd and it will (hopefully) see the end of Edgar Evernever and The Farm.

The episode synopsis reads: "Things take a dangerous turn when Betty and Charles track down Edgar and his Farmies. Archie and Veronica hold a car wash fundraiser at Pop’s to raise money for the community center. Elsewhere, Jughead’s first day at Stonewall Prep doesn’t go as planned. Lastly, Cheryl learns a dark family secret from Nana Rose."

First episode of the season aside, is it just me or are they really holding back on the promo teasers this season? Anyway! In the trailer for episode 3, Archie (who has taken it upon himself to make the town a better place by any means necessary) comes face to face with another gang. Literally how many gangs are in this town?!

But the big reveal in the trailer is Polly, who arrives at Charles' FBI office with a bomb vest strapped to her torso. The trailer fades to black just as Betty tries to disconnect the device with 47 seconds left on the timer.

If you listen closely, you can hear a collective "WHAT THE F*CK!?" from the entire fandom.

So, what's happening here?! Either an unwilling Polly (who does genuinely look shook) has been sent by Edgar as a form of bait and distraction or Polly has willingly agreed to put her life in danger for The Farm in a bid to stop her sister from blowing their cover.

Just when you thought Edgar peaked with the child kidney stealing...

Thanks to all the new information revealed at Comic Con and the recent Riverdale parents press tour, Alice (who has been an undercover informant this whole time) will have a huge redemption against the Farm in the episode. And I don't know about you, but I wouldn't wanna be Edgar once Mama Coop finds out about Polly and the bomb.
