The 13 Reason's Why star has been named in a lawsuit filed by Frances Bean Cobain's ex-husband.
In the weirdest news of 2018 so far, 13 Reasons Why's Ross Butler is reportedly being sued alongside Courtney Love for the wildest reason imaginable.
According to TMZ, Frances Bean Cobain's ex-husband Isaiah Silva is suing Courtney Love, claiming she conspired with several other people to break into his home and murder him with the intent of stealing one of the former Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's iconic guitars.
Butler has been named in the lawsuit alongside Love, Love's manager Sam Lufti, private investigator John Nazarian and musician Michael Schenk, according to a copy of the civil complaint obtained by PEOPLE.
Silva claims that Lutfi along with two other men robbed, assaulted, kidnapped and attempted to murder him at his West Hollywood Home. According to Silva, Lutfi was providing Courtney and Frances with illegal drugs including "illicit benzodiazepines," and Butler "acted as a courier for illicit drugs supplied to Love and her daughter" but couldn't be questioned by police "because he fled to Canada."
Oh, and if you're wondering how the hell Ross Butler became friends with Courtney Love, here's your answer:
"A good friend of mine is her manager," Butler told Vulture. "I met him [through a mutual friend] when I moved to L.A. and he was like, “Hey, do you wanna meet Courtney Love?” and I said sure. She and I just clicked really well. She’s super educated, like a walking encyclopedia. She’s just decided to keep me around, and has been my mentor and my big sister ever since."
No one from Butler's team has responded to the lawsuit yet but Courtney Love did respond to MTV on the matter. She called the claims "baseless and nonsense."
