Outer Banks vs Fear Street take on 'The Most Impossible Movie Quiz' | PopBuzz Meets
Will there be an Outer Banks season 3? Here's everything we know so far, including what the creators have said about a third season.
Just when you thought Outer Banks couldn't get any better, season 2 officially upped the stakes. And after that massive bombshell ending scene, Outer Banks season 3 could honestly not come soon enough.
Filming on Outer Banks season 3 has been completed and the creators have already teased their plans for what's to come (and even a possible season 4). We finally have a release now, too!
Outer Banks season 3 is set to drop on Netflix on February 23rd 2023, with the Pogues setting up shop in their makeshift Poguelandia home, and there'll be plenty of new escapades, shenanigans and danger ahead.
If you're just as desperate as us to find out as much as you can before season 3 eventually drops, here's everything we know about Outer Banks season 3 so far.
Yes. Outer Banks season 3 has officially been confirmed by Netflix. Taking to the Outer Banks Instagram page on December 7th, Netflix shared a video of the cast announcing the exciting news. In the short clip, Chase Stokes proclaims: "Season 3 baby! Let's go. We're coming back".
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly previously, co-creator Jonas Pate revealed that he envisions the show having four seasons, and the overall story has already been arced out.
"Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons," he told the publication. "We've sort of long-arced it out pretty far. I'm just hoping that we get a chance to actually tell those stories."
On February 28th 2022, the official OBX Instagram account shared the first glimpse at the cast back in action as the Pogues, plus Drew Starkey, who plays Rafe Cameron.
Outer Banks season 3 will be coming to Netflix on Thursday February 23rd. Filming wrapped in September 2022, after a long seven-month shoot in various locations.

Well, after the very dramatic and very explosive events of the Outer Banks season 2 finale, it looks like we may already know exactly which characters will be back for more.
Obviously, we'll see the return of the Pogues, as well as the Cameron family and all the other characters back home in the OBX.
Following the ending of Outer Banks season 2, fans can expect the return of Carlacia Grant as Cleo too as she joins the Pogues.
Elizabeth Mitchell has also confirmed she is returning as Carla Limbrey thanks to a few Instagram Story posts showing that she's back in Barbados (where parts of season 2 were filmed). It's clear that Limbrey's mysterious storyline is not over yet...
On June 23rd, a handful of new characters were revealed by Netflix on Twitter. Here's who is joining the cast of Outer Banks season 3:
WELL. Where do we even begin? The end of Outer Banks season 2 sets up a number of plot lines for a potential third season of the show.
At the end of Outer Banks season 2, we find out that the Pogues are now "missing", although viewers know that they actually managed to escape the cargo ship heading for Guadaloupe, and steered their boat to an island where they are now living. Cleo is also now part of the Pogues as she managed to escape with them.
We also find out that John B's dad, Big John Routledge, is actually alive. In the final scene, Limbrey arrives at a house in Barbados where it's revealed that Big John has been hiding after being rescued. He tells her that he can help her find the garment she's looking for, but in return, Limbrey has to help John B.
So, what will happen next?
As far as we know, the Cameron family have officially left the Outer Banks following Ward's fake death. They presumably ended up in Gudaloupe to start their new life in hiding. Rafe is the only person who saw the Pogues escape on the boat, but whether or not he tells anyone remains to be seen. Will he spend his days trying to track them down?
As for what the Pogues do next is anyone's guess. They're living on an island in the middle of the ocean, and no one seems to know where they are. At some point in season 3, it seems likely that they will end up working with Limbrey, and John B will find out that his father is alive.
There also looks like there'll be new romances in the air in season 3 too. Cleo and Pope? JJ and Kie? WE'RE READY!
