All the latest information about the release date, cast and plot of Orange Is the New Black season 7...
It's okay. You can breathe a sigh of relief. Orange Is the New Black is definitely going to return for a seventh season. All the way back in February 2016, Netflix renewed the beloved prison drama for three new seasons (5, 6 and 7), they've since confirmed that season 7 will be the last but that means that we have one more season to look forward to. We may have just binged S6 but we're already dying to find out what happens next.

Thankfully there are already some major hints. Season 6 ended with some pretty major events that will hopefully be resolved in some way come season 7 and the cast have already been talking about the show's future and what's next for it. With that in mind, we've gathered all of the essential news about season 7. If you're not all caught up look away as there are spoilers ahead.
Orange Is the New Black usually releases its new season in June every year. However, season 6 came out on July 27th. On May 22nd, 2019, Netflix released the first trailer for the final season of Orange Is the New Black and announced that season 7 will be dropping one year after season 6 on July 26th, 2019.
Season 6 ended with some pretty huge cliffhangers that are definitely going to be explored in season 7. First things first, the show's lead character Piper has finally been released from prison. As to whether or not she will stay together with Alex (her girlfriend/wife who is still in max) remains yet to be seen but it looks like season 7 could be Piper's last.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Schilling said: "I'm so grateful to have been able to play this part of Piper. I'm excited to let Piper go and put her to rest beautifully, as I'm sure [creator Jenji Kohan] will do, and let her kind of live on in her own world, when that time comes."
Then there is the fact that Blanca has been sent off to an Immigration camp (we're still crying over this) and Taystee has now been charged guilty with the murder of Piscatella. Hopefully, there will be some semblance of justice for these characters but it looks bleak af atm.
Naturally the internet is already making suggestions for season 7. Here are a few of the best.

— Max 💜 (@MaxWantsFood) July 28, 2018
• Lorna and her baby are fine
• Justice for Blanca and Taystee
• Badison dies
• Alex gets early release & can be with Piper
• We see the Ohio prison. This season felt dry without the other half. Really hated that we didn't see them.

Season 7 of #OITNB better be just Young Carol and Young Barb and the trial of Little Debbie pic.twitter.com/dqmKpcm2cT

As it stands nothing is confirmed. We imagine that all of the main characters from season 6 will feature but it's currently not known if they will develop Blanca's immigration camp storyline or not. We're pretty certain that Carol and Barb are dead so there is little chance that they will be in another season but new stars Daddy and Madison will likely still be in it.
However, there is a possibility that some old favourites could return. Many fans of the show were sad to see that season 6 was missing a lot of characters. Martiza, Boo and loads of others were transferred to a different prison than the season 6 cast and, as a result, weren't in the last season at all.
Chatting to The Hollywood Reporter, OINTB writer Brian Chamberlayne said: "If the story takes us there, it has to be organic for us. We never want to suddenly be in a world that we haven't set up. But we love those characters and miss them as storytellers for sure, so we hope to always see them."
Fingers crossed that our queens return.
All past seasons of Orange Is The New Black have contained 13 episodes so we imagine that season 7 will contain the same.
