Season 2 of Netflix's hit teen drama On My Block premiered on the streaming platform on Friday, March 29. Season 2 saw our favourite Freeridge residents dealing with the fall out from s1's shooting. Yes! On My Block has officially been renewed for season 3 on Netflix!
The second season of the popular teen drama dropped on Netflix on March 29, 2019. A month later, on April 29, 2019 Netflix announced that season 3 of On My Block was "on the way". The official On My Block account shared a video and message announcing the good news with fans.

As of late July 2019, On My Block season 3 is officially in production! Jessica Marie Garcia, who plays Jasmine on the show, shared a photo of herself and her cast mates sitting in her home with what appeared to be open scripts on the table.

How much will the cast of On My Block be paid in season 3?
Following news of intense contract negotiations, it seems Netflix has reached an agreement with the cast. The young actors, who were earning $20,000 per episode for the first two seasons of the show, were reportedly seeking pay comparable to that of the cast of 13 Reasons Why.
THR reports that the cast will now earn $65,000 per episode in season 3, with a bump to $81,250 for a potential fourth season.
On My Block season 3 release date - When will On My Block season 3 be on Netflix?
At the moment, On My Block's season 3 release date has not been officially announced. Based on its first two seasons, we can confidently assume season 3 will arrive in Spring 2020.
Season 1 of On My Block premiered on March 16, 2018. Season 2 premiered on March 29, 2019. Assuming season 3 will follow a similar production and release schedule, March 2020 seems like a safe bet.

Unlike season 1's shooting cliffhanger, no one's life seems to be in immediate danger as we head into season 3. Jessica Marie Garcia, Sierra Capri, Diego Tinoco, Brett Gray, and Jason Genao will all return for season 3.
Julio Macias, who plays Spooky has been upped to series regular for season 3. After Spooky's heart stopping bait and switch at the end of season 2, Macias' performance must have impressed some very important people.
Meanwhile, On My Block season 2 ended on a huge cliffhanger - Who kidnapped Ruby, Cesar, Jamal, and Monse?
At the end of season 2, Monse announces that she's planning to leave Freeridge for a new boarding school. She fights with Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal, who don't believe she is really going.
As she turns her back to them, a van rolls up and black sacks are thrown over each boy's head, before one is eventually thrown over Monse's head.
But who could be behind the kidnapping? Well, considering the fact that The Prophets were set up with some unwashed bank robbery money, we'd say they're our number one suspects.
But wait. What if Monse, Jamal, Cesar, and Ruby were kidnapped by someone who wants to protect them? The feds? The Santos?
In an interview with TV Guide, Lauren Iungerich hinted at what fans could expect in season 3. "I think they're definitely going to be in danger, that's for sure. But it might not be what you think it is."
