Netflix's The Society sounds like a cross between Riverdale and Lord of the Flies
5 April 2019, 16:26
The trailer for the new teen drama series just dropped and it looks absolutely wild. Here's everything you need to know, including the cast and release date.
It's a truth universally acknowledged that all the best TV shows are the ones that involve teenagers who somehow get caught up in all kinds of unrealistic drama, mystery and murder investigations. Riverdale. Elite. Pretty Little Liars. You know the ones.
Well, if you're a fan of those three shows, you're in luck because Netflix are about to drop yet another series that you're about to become obsessed with called The Society.
Arriving on May 10th, it's been described as Lord of the Flies (you know, the novel about a group of boys stranded on an island who end up going wild when they attempt to govern themselves) with a little dash of Gossip Girl sprinked on top. Sounds perfectly chaotic.
The trailer, set to the creepy tones of Billie Eilish's 'bury a friend', explains that it's been nine days since the parents in town have "gone missing". With no adults to enforce any rules amongst the teenagers, all hell breaks loose and as you can imagine, everything quickly descends into wild parties, riots, violence and death.
