People have been sending both Millie and Jacob hate after "flirting" on social media. It needs to stop.

The people of the internet are currently wilding out about Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown and YouTuber Jacob Sartorius' potential relationship thanks to a bunch of tweets and Instagram comments and it's getting out of hand.

Now, you're probably thinking... "If you say we should leave them alone, why are you writing about it?" Well, some people need to be told to chill out. So here we are.

Their little back and forths on social media have been going on for a while now but since PopCrave tweeted about it, Millie has started getting an INSANE amount of hate sent to her account from people who don't like Jacob. (Jacob has been getting hate too, as a matter of fact, and it's ridiculous.)

The fandom are also responding to Jacob's tweets with pictures of Millie's Stranger Things co-star Finn Wolfhard because they "ship" them in real life. Millie has already spoken about how uncomfortable the fandom's conversation about the relationship between her and her co-star Finn makes her (and him). Last month, she was forced to delete an Instagram of the two of them because the fandom started shipping them in the comments.

This needs to stop. Shipping the fictional Eleven with another fictional character is fine. Having strong opinions about the pairings of FICTIONAL CHARACTERS is fine. But dragging, bullying, trying to create drama among real life people and calling teenagers trash because their real life counterparts are "flirting" with other real life people is unacceptable.

Add to the fact that they are literally 13 and 15 years old... It's gonna be a 'no' from me, dawg. And it should be a 'no' from you too. Who decided it was acceptable to send hate to a 13 year old over who she decides to date? And who decided it was ok to even concern ourselves with the dating life of a 13 year old?! (No one, lads. No one.)

Having a crush and trying to navigate all of that drama at 13 is bullshit enough as it is... now imagine what's it's like with what seems like the ENTIRE INTERNET criticising you and sending you hate for it.

We've already spoken at length at how real life shipping can ruin friendships and about the fact that there continues to be HUGE issues with the fandom overstepping their mark with the younger cast members of Stranger Things.

LET THE TEENAGERS BE TEENAGERS IN PEACE.
