Michael Consuelos will be stepping into Hiram Lodge's fitted suits for the parents flashback episode in season 3.
In case you missed it, Riverdale season three is about to give us what we've all been waiting for - a flashback episode that's all about the parents when they were in high school. Yep, the flashback episode will be called "The Midnight Club" and will be inspired by the iconic film, The Breakfast Club.
But there's going to be quite a bit of a twist involved... instead of taking a leaf out of Mamma Mia 2's book and casting a bunch of new look-a-like actors to play the younger versions of the adults, the core four will be taking on the likenesses of their parents for the episode.
Lili Reinhart will be playing young (serpent) Alice, KJ Apa will be dying his hair brown to portray a young Fred, which is kind of amazing because him and young Luke Perry are IDENTICAL.
Camila Mendes will of course be playing young Hermione, who has been described as a catholic school girl. Madelaine Petsch will step into young Penelope Blossom's evil shoes. Cole Sprouse will have to channel his inner jock to portray Riverdale High's hottest football player, young FP Jones. Ashleigh Murray, Charles Melton and Casey Cott will all be portraying their mother and fathers in the episode too.
But who will be playing young Hal Cooper, we hear you cry! What about Mary Andrews?! Young Hiram Lodge? Well... we've just found out our answer for the latter - and it's absolutely GENIUS.
Young Hiram Lodge will be played by Mark Consuelos' REAL LIFE SON, Michael.
Mark and Michael's mother Queen Kelly Ripa have already congratulated their son on his role. Both of his parents shared posts on Instagram with hilarious captions.
"Congrats Michael on being cast as young Hiram Lodge on @thecwriverdale," Kelly wrote. "However @instasuelos and i would like to take this opportunity to remind you and your siblings that as your fiduciaries we are hereby entitled to 10% of all future earnings hereto wit, or something like that."
Michael, whose first major on-screen role will literally be as the younger version of his father, has already appeared in the show - in the form of a throwback photo of Hiram during his wrestling days. He can be seen in the trophy cabinet in season two, episode 11, called "The Wrestler."
