Luke Perry's Riverdale and Beverly Hills 90210 co-stars and friends have all taken to Twitter and Instagram to send messages of support and well wishes to the actor following news that he had suffered a stroke.
Yesterday, TMZ reported that Perry was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to his home in Los Angeles. Following news of his hospitalisation, no immediate update was given on his condition. Later, a rep for Perry confirmed to People.com that the actor was “currently under observation at the hospital.” Further reports say that Perry is "sedated".
Perry plays Archie's dad Fred Andrews on Riverdale and is most well known for playing Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210. Hours after the reports emerged, many of his past and present co-stars shared personal messages on social media wishing the beloved actor and legend a speedy recovery. Luke's Beverly Hills 90210 co-stars Shannen Doherty and Ian Ziering also took to Instagram to send their well wishes to their former co-star.
Coincidentally, Luke was hospitalised on the same day that it was announced that there would be a revival of Beverly Hills 90210, but his involvement in the six-part series was never confirmed due to his commitments to Riverdale.
Fans have also been sharing their own messages on social media alongside videos of Luke at meet and greets and conventions.
