“I never understood sexual assault until tonight..."
Pretty Little Liar's Lucy Hale has implied that she was recently sexually assaulted after posting a heartbreaking screenshot to her fans on Instagram and Twitter.
Lucy shared a written note on her Instagram story last night (Jan 19) that appeared to suggest that she had been assaulted.
In a Notes app screenshot, she wrote: “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathised, but never truly felt the pain of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss for words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”
She didn't share any more details.
Lucy deleted the original story post but later shared it on Twitter with the caption, "I deleted it from Instagram. But this needs to be heard." That tweet has now also been deleted.
Despite removing the statement from her social accounts, fans are still sending their love and support on in her Instagram comments and on Twitter.

if something that horrific happens to you and one of your first thoughts is "fuck that, I refuse to let this happen to anybody else and I will fight on behalf of myself and everybody else who's experienced this"? I cannot fathom that amount of strength. @lucyhale you're a badass.
