"My hair is damaged as hell from being on my show."
If there's one thing that's consistent with Riverdale it's Betty Cooper's ponytail. The style is pretty much her trademark and you'll hardly ever catch her without it. However Lili Reihart, who plays Betty in the CW series, has revealed that the ponytail comes at a serious price.
Lili recently admitted that Betty's platinum style has damaged her hair during an interview with Allure. The Hustlers actress is constantly having to highlight her naturally darker, dirty blonde hair just to maintain Betty's cooler shade.

And whilst a ponytail might be our go to style when we're trying to head out the door in record time, Betty's super sleek look actually takes a while to perfect.
"My hair is damaged as hell from being on my show and just from heat styling in general," Lili said. "So I try to take really good care of my hair."
Lili, who has naturally curly hair, now chooses styling products that protects her tresses from the heat. The show's stylists have even started adding extensions to Lili's hair in order to protect some her natural locks.
"This ponytail causes me stress," she added. "It takes a long time [to style], longer than you'd think, and it's really annoying and very frustrating. It's just the fact that it's really hard to get it perfect... That's my biggest struggle. Being on camera, you can't have flyaways, so I'm looking at my head probably 70 times a day to make sure that my hair is in place. I hate that it's very high maintenance." Whew, who knew?
Now, the new COVERGIRL ambassador has a plan in place just in case any future roles mess with her natural hair.

She continued: "I kind of promised myself if I were offered a role where they said I need to be a redhead [or] I need to be a brunette that I would have to wear a wig because my hair has been through so much."
