Prior to landing the role of The Little Mermaid, Jonah Hauer-King was perhaps best known for his role as Harry Chase in BBC war drama series World on Fire (pictured). In November 2019, it was announced that Jonah Hauer-King would portray the live-action version of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid. The audition process took around 6 or 7 months, and Jonah told BuzzFeed UK that he found out he landed the role via a phone call from director Rob Marshall who said, “Hello, it’s Rob Marshall, I’m looking for Prince Eric.” And the rest is history!
