13 Reasons Why voicemails hint that Jessica is involved in Bryce Walker's death

Two voicemails from Alex Standall and Justin Foley hint that Jessica Davis is in for a messy love triangle and possibly Bryce's death in 13 Reasons Why season 3.

13 Reasons Why returns for season 3 on Friday 23 August and the mystery of who killed Bryce Walker lies at the heart of the show's penultimate season. With our suspects and theories lined up, a new clue about the upcoming season hints that Jessica, Justin and Alex's dynamic is one to watch this year.

The official 13 Reasons Why social media accounts posted two voicemails to Jessica from Justin and Alex that could suggest Jessica goes "MIA".

Justin's message to Jessica comes first out of the two.

"Hey, it's, uh, it's me," he begins. "I hope you aren't too worried about what happened between us. I know there's a lot of other shit going on right now but I really want to talk to you about this. About you and me. Okay call me back. Bye."

13 Reasons Why fans will remember that at the end of season 2, Jessica and Justin hooked up at the school dance, despite their relationship being seriously messy and complicated.

Season 2 left a big question hanging over their relationship. Will Jessica and Justin rekindle their romance in season 3 or will Jessica and Alex get closer?

Meanwhile, Alex Standall still has strong feelings for Jessica, as evidenced by his own pining voicemail.

"Hey Jess, I know things have been insane lately and we've both been way more busy than usual," he says. "But I just wanted to make sure that you were good. You know I'm always here for you. I love you."

I. Love. You.

It's possible that Jessica is dodging both of Alex and Justin's calls because, well, the situation isn't exactly ideal. Jessica will have to reveal to Alex that she hooked up with Justin and we're cringing just thinking about it.

However, Jessica has just as strong a motive as an anyone when it comes to Bryce's murder. She was also sexually assaulted by Bryce and wasn't granted any justice last season, despite testifying against the serial rapist.

All those missed calls suddenly have us questioning why Jessica is off the grid and whether that has anything to do with Bryce Walker.
