Could Jessica Lange be returning Constance Langdon and/or Fiona Goode for the Murder House/Coven crossover season?
Ever since fans got confirmation that the theme for American Horror Story season 8 will be the Murder House/Coven crossover, they've gone into overdrive wondering which cast members and characters will be returning to make an appearance.
So far, Murphy has teased that season is going to explode with cameos and guest appearances from all our faves. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk spilled what's to come in the new season: "You will see so many fan favourites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept."
And now it's been confirmed that ONE of those fan favourites will in fact be... the incomparable Jessica Lange.
YES. REALLY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!
At the TCAs on Friday (August 3), it was revealed by Sarah Paulson that Lange will be reprising her role of Constance Langdon in the upcoming eighth season of the show, aka the Murder House/Coven crossover season. And she'll be in the episode directed by Paulson herself.

Murphy had been cryptically teasing her return for quite a while saying that "everybody who is involved in the show has always said, ‘Yeah, that sounds like fun, let’s get the band back together again.’" He name dropped Lange in that statement alongside Murder House stars Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott.
No other details about her return as Constance have been released so far, but for now, it sounds like she'll be in at least one episode and will probably appear with Michael Langdon (played by Cody Fern), her grandson who also happens to be the anti-Christ.
But despite going back to the Coven in this season, it doesn't sound like Lange will be bringing the iconic Fiona Goode back to life. Then again... who knows what kind of tricks Murphy has up his sleeve.
