The Ending Of 'Insatiable' Has Got Everyone Losing Their Minds

"Holy f*** the ending of Insatiable is dark as hell..."
Netflix's new dark comedy Insatiable has well and truly split the internet right down the middle; some people are absolutely loving the show, some people absolutely cannot believe it was even allowed to be made. There's also a pretty big divide between the critics and the general audience reaction to the show too. Despite an 11% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a whopping 82% rating from the audience.
But there is one thing that seems to be uniting the masses, and that's how absolutely WILD the ending of the first season is.
There'll be spoilers ahead for the final episode of Insatiable, so if you're currently watching it and don't want to know what happens... do not scroll past this gif.
Right then, let's get into it. First things first, the ending to this show is absolutely NUTS and makes almost NO sense. Patty plots to kidnap Roxy but her plot is foiled by Stella Rose just as she's about to follow through with her plan. She then gets kidnapped by Stella Rose and locked in the Weiner truck.
After a drawn out back and forth, she escapes the truck for good and she shows up at the prom and gets a text from Magnolia. She arrives to where Magnolia said she was only to discover that Christian has kidnapped her. Drama ensues, Christian calls Patty a "bad person" for some reason and she SNAPS. She beats him to death. Literally beats him to death.
Once he's dead, she then calls Bob and tells him what happened. THEN she reveals that she also murdered Stella Rose.
Yep, Patty has now murdered TWO people... and viewers can't quite cope with the completely unexpected, unbelievable and almost unnecessary (?) ending to the first season.
I finished #Insatiable and I honestly liked the show. It addresses stuff in society that we're too afraid to talk about. That ending though went so left, it had me saying WTF for a good ten minutes

Is Patty actually the villain of this show? Aren't we meant to sympathise with her or something? Because WE DON'T.
Insatiable’s ending was interesting af and I don’t know if I should hate Patty or like her.

As wild and strangely entertaining as it was, some people just didn't like it.
Insatiable was so good but the ending is so anticlimactic given the circumstances of how it led to it o.O

So, if the show gets picked up for a second season (which it probably will, let's face it...), what the bloody hell will happen? Well, Patty is now gonna have to come to terms with - and try to cover up - the fact that she's now a two-time murderer for starters so that certainly sets up the next phase of the story.
But all of this seems so far removed from what the show originally set out to be. Will it actually work for the best? Or will it spiral into even more of a muddled narrative? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
