Hocus Pocus is getting a sequel for Disney+

The original Hocus Pocus movie was released in 1993, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. The sequel has been confirmed by Disney, and will form as part of their new streaming platform, Disney+.

With the launch of Disney+ approaching, the second instalment of one of our favourite classics will be heading to the platform, this time directed by Adam Shankman, known for his work on Hairspray (2007), and is currently assisting with Disney's Enchanted sequel, called Disenchanted.

Fans are hoping that stars from the original 1993 movie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy will be returning as the witches, and Disney is reportedly trying to bring them back to be part of it - even if they're not playing as the main characters of the film.
Sarah Jessica Parker has previously dropped hints that she would be up for reuniting with her fellow Sanderson sisters, after she posted an Instagram photo last year of a scene from the original movie with the caption: "Halloween 2019. One for the books."
In a comment, she also seemingly confirmed they'd all be in the next film when someone wrote: "Any chance of a sequel?" to which she replied: "We have all said yes. Now we wait. X." Eek.
The original movie focuses on the story of the Sanderson sisters who were executed 300 years ago for practising dark witchcraft. After Max, a new kid-in-town to the place where they once resided accidentally awakens the trio by lighting a black flame candle, they have have one night to secure their existence and be brought back to life, while Max, his sister, and their friend Allison try to stop them and save the children of where they live.
Lovers of the original mystical film have already come out in numbers to show their support for the potential reunion between the trio, and it's only getting us more excited:

Disney+ is set to launch on 24th March, with remakes of Lady and the Tramp, a new Star Wars show: The Mandalorian, and every single episode of The Simpsons available on offer, as well as all of the Disney classics. Over 10 million people signed up to the service on its first day, and that number is only set to rocket with new movies being announced constantly, and the potential return of Sarah Jessica Parker and co.
