Haunting of Hill House sequel Bly Manor may not arrive until next Halloween

The Haunting of Hill House director Mike Flanagan offered his best guess as to when viewers could expect the show's season 2 follow up, The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Fans of The Haunting of Hill House will have to wait just a little while longer for more terrifying storytelling. The Haunting of Bly Manor is the second instalment in the anthology and director Mike Flanagan (Gerald's Game, Hush) thinks he has an idea of when season 2 will premiere.
Although Flanagan said that he doesn't have an official date from Netflix just yet, he thinks that Bly Manor will be on our screens this time next year. Speaking to The Wrap, Mike Flanagan offered his own guess as to when viewers can expect the follow-up to The Haunting of Hill House.

"It's probably Halloween again if I had to guess," Flanagan told The Wrap. "You’re going to like it. It’s cool!"
Last month, Flanagan confirmed that The Haunting of Bly Manor was officially in production. "Today is the second day of production on THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR. Feeling very grateful to be here," he tweeted on 1 October.
The director has shared a steady stream of updates about Bly Manor since the theme was confirmed back in February. Several actors from The Haunting of Hill House are confirmed to return for Bly Manor, including Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
Bly Manor is based on Henry James' The Turn of The Screw, a novella published in the late 1800s which has been adapted on film more than once over the years.
It tells the story of a governess charged with looking after "two very unusual children". Victoria Pedretti will play Dani, the governess in question, while her Haunting of Hill House twin will return as Peter.
Speaking to Games Radar, Mike Flanagan revealed that The Turn of The Screw is the "backbone" of the season, but other Henry James works will be explored too.
He said: "We're doing a whole season of television. The Turn of the Screw is only one of a dozen stories that we're telling. All Henry James; all thematically linked.
"I think of Turn of the Screw as the backbone of this season – the through-line that carries us from beginning to end. But we get to go off into The Jolly Corner and The Romance of Certain Old Clothes, and so many other of these wonderful ghost stories that people haven't seen adapted before."
Okay, we officially cannot wait until Halloween 2020.
