The 'Game Of Thrones' prequel cast has been announced and it stars two Harry Potter actors

The Game of Thrones prequel cast has been revealed and it includes two Harry Potter stars (Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo), Lucy from the Narnia films (Georgie Henley) and one huge Hollywood A-Lister (Naomi Watts).

In case you haven't heard, there's going to be a Game Of Thrones prequel. Good news for those of us who are already dreading saying goodbye to our favourite Kings and Queens of Westeros, bad news for the rest of the world who literally cannot wait for it all to finally be wrapped up.

The plot of the news series takes place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones and will delve into how the world fell into darkness after the decline of the Age Of Heroes. Naomi Watts had already been cast in the prequel series and she'll be playing “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.” Poldark's Josh Whitehouse also joined the cast.

But now, the rest of the cast for the pilot episode has been announced and it already sounds like it's going to be amazing. Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley and Alex Sharp have all joined the pilot in series regular roles, alongside Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo, who you'll probably recognise as young(er) Grindelwald and young(er) Dumbledore in Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald.

Of course, Harry Potter stars joining the cast of Game of Thrones isn't anything new. There's been around 13 characters in Thrones that have been played by actors who've appeared in the Potter franchise - and now Jamie and Toby are joining the ranks and will appear on screen together once again.

Fans of Jamie Campbell Bower will also know him as Caius from the Twilight films, as Anthony in Sweeney Todd and from Mortal Instruments.

And in addition to playing the younger version of Jude Law's young Dumbledore in Crimes of Grindelwald, Toby also had a main role in the TV show Reign and appeared in One Day alongside Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.

Naomi Ackie, who joins the cast in an unspecified role, will also be seen in the next Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode IX. She was recently seen in Idris Elba's directorial debut movie, Yardie as well as a bunch of UK TV shows including Doctor Who and Vera.

Denise Gough recently appeared in Colette alongside Keira Knightley and is set to play opposite Sebastian Stan in a film called Monday, which follows the lives of "two self-destructive Americans, living across Athens and the Greek islands who plunge into a tsunami of a romance." No details are known about her character yet.

Sheila Atim credits are primarily in theatre but you might recognise her from the Hulu show Harlots. Atim won an Olivier award for her role in “Girl From the North Country.” Once again, no details are known about her character yet.

You might recognise Ivanno Jeremiah from Black Mirror - more specifically, the third episode of season three titled "Shut Up And Dance" that also stars Alex Lawther from The End Of The F***ing World. Funnily enough, Jeremiah is about to star opposite Game of Thrones big guns Lena Headey (Cersei) and Iain Glenn (Ser Jorah) in a film called The Flood. Who will he be playing in the prequel? No one knows just yet...

Alex Sharp recently starred opposite Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman in How to Talk to Girls at Parties and Marti Noxon’s Netflix film To the Bone, with Lily Collins. His role in the prequel? THEY'RE NOT TELLING US.

Rounding out the cast is Georgie Henley, who you will almost definitely recognise as Lucy Pevensie from all three Narnia films. Since then, Georgie has appeared in the independent films Perfect Sisters, Sisterhood of Night, and Access All Areas.

No other details are known about the prequel, including the release date or the title. But now we have the cast, it's only a matter of time before more information is shared. We'll let you know when we hear it.
