Marvel's Eternals release date.

First things first. When is Eternals hitting theatres? The official release date for Eternals is November 6, 2020. Mark your calendars. We're a little over a year out from seeing The Eternals in theatres, which means there will be plenty of updates, teasers, and trailers to look out for in the mean time.

Eternals is the second film in the next phase of the MCU–the first being Black Widow, out May 1, 2020.

What is Eternals actually about? - Plot

In the comics, the Eternals are an ancient race charged with defending earth and its inhabitants. We know you're pretty smart, so you can probably guess from their name that these beings are immortal.

The Eternals were created long ago by The Celestials (another ancient powerful race). Meanwhile, their counterparts, the Deviants, are described as "hideous" monsters who have 'genetic instabilities'.

In the upcoming film, the Eternals have been on earth for 35,000 years, though we have yet to meet them in the MCU.

Director Chloé Zhao told fans at Comic-Con more about the film saying: "It's about this group of incredible immortals but through their journey we really get to explore what it means to be human. And humanity. And our time on this planet."

It's not much to go on just yet, but we're betting the characters will make a big splash in their first outing.

Marvel's Eternals cast and characters - Who will be in the film?

Eternals has assembled a pretty impressive ensemble cast. In the run up to San Diego Comic-Con, Angelina Jolie's name was floated in connection with the project, and now we have confirmation. Interestingly enough, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown was also linked the film, but has since denied involvement.

Richard Madden (Game of Thrones), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), and Salma Hayek (Frida), Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), and Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians) star in Eternals.

So, who is playing who? Here are the heroes and the actors who play them...

According to Marvel.com, Thena is "the eldest daughter of Zuras, leader of the Eternals of Earth." Thena has super human strength and abilities like the other Eternals, but it's unclear what her main powers will be in the film.

"I love the diversity of our cast and I think that's gonna bring something special and different and I'm excited about Thena. It's a good challenge," Angelina told MTV news in August.
