Netflix has renewed Dead To Me for a second season but when does season 2 come out on Netflix? Who will be in it? And what will happen to Jen and Judy?
Every now and then, Netflix drops an absolute banger of a TV series that changes the game. Dead To Me is the streaming service's latest hit show that has had viewers hooked from the first episode - and now season 2 is officially on the way.
If you haven't already seen it, Dead to Me follows Jen (Christina Applegate) who has just lost her husband in a mystery hit-and-run incident. At a grief group, she meets Judy (Linda Cardellini) who has recently suffered her own loss. They become friends but it turns out that Judy is hiding a huge secret from Jen about who killed her husband. Drama, drama, drama.
Season one ends with a big ol' cliffhanger that has fans questioning everyone's motives and creating theories. Thankfully, the show has now been renewed for a second season and it looks like we're finally about to get some answers to what actually happened in Jen's back garden.
Netflix renewed the dark comedy series for a second season in June 2019, a few months after it premiered on Netflix. So far, no other details have been released but watch this space. There's currently no official start date for season 2 yet. It all depends on how long it takes to film. It's likely that we'll see season 2 at some point in 2020.
There's no confirmation in regards to the amount of episodes just yet but there will likely be another 10 episodes for all of us to lose our minds over, just like season 1.
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini will both be returning as Jen Harding and Judy Hale respectively. (Jen and Judy stans, lemme hear y'all scream!)
James Marsden, who plays Judy's ex-fiancé Steve, could return but his scenes will likely only be flashbacks because of what happened at the end of season 1. (SPOILER ALERT: He was shot and found floating face down in Jen's pool in the final episode.)
Max Jenkins who plays Christopher Doyle, Jen's (former) real estate business partner and friend will return as well as Brandon Scott who plays Nick, the retired cop. Jen's sons Charlie and Henry, played by Sam McCarthy and Luke Rossler will also return. Valerie Mahaffey could also return as Jen's mother-in-law Lorna.

Well, season 1 gave us the all important reveal of Jen finding out that Steve and Judy were the ones that were in the car that ran over Ted. She'll no doubt have to deal with the falling out over that little nugget of information, whether she tells Judy that she knows is a whole 'nother matter.
“There’s an evening of the score and there’s a rebalancing that will take place and almost, in some ways, a role reversal,” creator Liz Feldman tells The Hollywood Reporter about where Jen and Judy will be in season two.
“This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship. So suffice to say, there will be more darkness,” she adds.
And most importantly, we'll hopefully find out who actually shot Steve... more on that bombshell below.
While we all assume that it was Jen who shot Steve after he confessed to being in the car that hit and killed Ted, Feldman has revealed that the true identity behind who shot Steve is still up in the air. As if you thought that ending was going to be that simple.
"I’ll just say that you don’t know that she shot him,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "It’s not exactly what you think it’s going to be."
So who could it be? Jen has a clear enough motive, and she has a gun. Was it Charlie, who claimed himself as "man of the house" once his father died? Could he have stumbled outside, heard Steve's confession and took matters into his own hands? Or Henry? Lorna? Nick, the retired police officer who still seems to have the gun he confiscated from Charlie's bag? KAREN? With the lasagna?!
One thing's for sure, it definitely wasn't Judy.
