Watch the trailer for Netflix's Christmas series Dash & Lily
There's three books in the original Dash & Lily novel series so a Netflix sequel is not totally out of the question.
Netflix have given us the best early Christmas present in the form of Dash & Lily. The festive romcom series stars Austin Abrams and Midori Francis as the titular roles, Dash and Lily, and people are already living for it.
Dash and Lily couldn’t be more different: One loves Christmas (Lily) and one is the biggest Christmas cynic around (Dash). They form a bond while writing notes to each other in a red notebook, that they leave in various locations around New York City. Eventually, they fall in love.
If you've already made it to the final episode of the series, you're probably dying to know what happens to them next. Well, thankfully, there are two more books in the Dash & Lily series which means a season 2 might very well be on the cards.
As of right now, there's no confirmation about a second season but here's everything we know about Dash & Lily season 2 anyway...
There’s currently no confirmation about a second season of the show just yet but it could be on the cards. The popularity and great reviews of the series are promising, and it will no doubt be a favourite when Christmas season truly hits.
The show is based on the Dash & Lily novels written by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn, so it also bodes well that there’s another 2 books in the series. If the show gets renewed, it’s likely that it’ll be based around book 2, which is titled ‘The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily’.
Netflix usually leave it a few months before confirming whether a show has been renewed so keep an eye out. We’ll update this article once we know more.
Well, it’s a Christmas series for a start so don’t expect it anytime before November or December 2021.
The story of the second book picks up with Dash & Lily one year later. The synopsis reads: “Dash and Lily have had a tough year since they first fell in love among the shelves of their favourite bookstore. Lily’s beloved grandfather suffered a heart attack, and his difficult road to recovery has taken a major toll on her typically sunny disposition.”
“With only twelve days left until Christmas—Lily’s favourite time of the year—Dash, Lily’s brother Langston, and their closest friends must take Manhattan by storm to help Lily recapture the unique holiday magic of a glittering, snow-covered New York City in December.”
It's likely that all your fave characters will be back again for some more festive New York City activities.
Whether or not the Jonas Brothers will treat us to another performance remains to be seen though. Nick Jonas is an executive producer on the series, so it's possible that he'll make another cameo.
