A sneak peek into The Kissing Booth 3 on Netflix
Joey King posted an Instagram video behind the scenes of The Kissing Booth 2 – and it turns out that our favourite Dance Dance Mania scenes with Taylor Zakhar Perez are actually filmed on a green screen...
We've only just recovered from those epic dance scenes in The Kissing Booth 2, and things are about to get even wilder, because Joey King has confirmed that they're not what we first thought. In fact, they were filmed on green screens.
That's right, your favourite dance showdown with Taylor Zakhar Perez as new boy Marco, were actually shot in a studio on a backdrop, and not in an arena packed with adoring fans.
Joey, who plays lead Elle Evans, posted a video to Instagram over the weekend from when the film was being shot.

In the video, we see her and Taylor (who she has a rumoured romance with!) performing the iconic final practise scene before the Dance Dance Mania competition on a dance arcade machine, against a bright green back drop as the camera pans round a track filming them. Everything we knew is a lie.
While the scenes in the movie may look realistic, it's just another example of how far technology has come, as Joey wrote: "This is the full version that we shot of the final arcade scene with Marco and Elle.
"We danced the entire day which was killer on my shin splints but my dance partner made it all worth it. This was a really exhausting day but more fun than anything else. I miss this a lot."

Apart from the amazement that the pair learned the super-complicated dance in full, fans were most concerned that they'd never realised anything suspicious about the film's locations.
"I just found out the arcade in The Kissing Booth is a green screen. I wonder why i can’t sleep at night," one user wrote. Another added: "I’m truly baffled but also would love to see more BTS."
"I FEEL LIED TO" was also one of the most commented phrases on the video, and fans are even rewatching the movie to work out how they didn't spot it in the first place.
But it's not all bad news, because Joey herself actually responded to one of the comments highlighting the disappointment that the arcade wasn't real, saying: "No it was!! just that scene was done on a green screen."
The Kissing Booth 3 was filmed in secret at the same time as the 2nd movie, so we'll be keeping a beady eye when we get our next Elle Evans fix.
