People Are Accusing Cole Sprouse Of "Sensationalising Poverty" On His Instagram

Cole Sprouse has removed an image from his Instagram after fans accused his of "sensationalising poverty".
As your probably aware, as well as being an actor on Riverdale, Cole is known for his photography work and has done shoots for lots of big publishers and his Instagram is full of artfully taken photos.
Cole in currently on holiday in the Philippines and has been sharing pictures from his time in Manila, including shots of local people at work, the busy streets and urban landscapes. All very nice stuff. Makes for a nice break from Insta thot selfies on our timeline, tbh.
Unfortunately, not all of Cole's photos went down well with his followers.
For most of the photos, Cole has captioned the images with "Manila". However, for one photo of a young child in the city, Cole decided to make light of the child staring at him as he took the picture. He wrote: "Well i'm not your parent, don't gotta follow me around."
Some people felt that caption was in poor taste and belittled the child and the local people. As Teen Vogue reported, someone commented: "You shouldn’t post a photo of some innocent kid with her poor impoverished living conditions in the back and make a joke. A rich white privileged man going into a place he really doesn’t belong taking pictures and putting a caption like that..."
Cole has since taken down the photo and responded to the comments on his Instagram stories.
"For those of you that took offense to this photo or the caption, I removed it", he wrote. "My apologies, and not my intention. Certainly not seeking to sensationalize poverty nor poke fun, shoulda have thought more about the words used, and the implications of those words I hadn't even considered."
