Netflix have just dropped the trailer for new show 'Cheer' – and we're already hooked.
Cheer, Netflix's latest docu-series, follows the lives of the cheerleading squad at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, and it's giving us major Bring It On vibes.
The Bulldogs have been reigning champions at the National Cheerleading Association Championship since 2000. Under the leadership of coach Monica Aldama, the documentary focuses on her impressive winning streak and the young people on the squad.

Delving into some of the team member's personal lives, we soon learn that being a cheerleader is definitely no easy feat. It's safe to say it's not all cartwheels in cute outfits and the team goes through their fair share of ups and downs as they push themselves to the brink (sometimes sustaining some serious injuries) in order to win a coveted title at Daytona Beach, Florida.
The team aren't only using cheer to win though, others use it as a form of escapism, with one girl admitting she would be in "jail" if it wasn't for the extreme sport.
Cheer is the work of director Greg Whiteley, who is behind Netflix's Last Chance U, which explores the American football program at various community colleges. In an interview with Mashable, Greg revealed that Cheer is much more extreme than we could ever imagine.
"I think they are the toughest athletes I’ve ever filmed," he explained. "And that was surprising to most of us on the film crew – there’s a lot of people who came from Last Chance U to film Cheer.
"[When filming a documentary] you’re always surprised by something, or at least you’re hoping to be. That’s the only way you’re going to have a series that’s of any interest. [With the cheerleaders], it was their ability to endure pain. That continues to surprise me."
You can stream Cheer on Netflix from 8 January 2020.
