OITNB is drawing to a close reveals which character death was the hardest.
Orange Is The New Black is back for its seventh and final season and you're probably doing a lot of reflecting right now. It's been a long journey, with plenty of emotional storylines and losses along the way. All the deaths across the series were crucial and brought us to this final season, but who do OITNB bosses regret killing off?
In an interview with HuffPost, OITNB executive producer Tara Herrmann revealed which death was the hardest across all the show's seasons.
"Of course we were sad in season one, with the character of Tricia," she said. "We had written that character, we knew what her end was going to be, and then when we cast [Madeleine Brewer] and worked with her and the character developed, we did have a hard time moving forward with what was her inevitable ending."
OITNB fans will remember Tricia's tragic death in season 1, episode 10 "Bora Bora Bora". In the episode Mendez locks Tricia in a supply closet to keep her "out of sight" and she tragically overdoses on Oxycontin. To cover up his tracks, Mendez makes it look like Tricia has committed suicide by hanging making it all the more upsetting.
It's definitely a sad arc for the character who faced addiction and homelessness before arriving at Litchfield.
If you're a fan of the show, the tragic death of Poussey Washington in season 4 probably hit you hard as well. The beloved character met her end after being accidentally strangled in a chaotic scuffle in 4x12, something which would eventually lead to the infamous Litchfield riot.
Other notable deaths include Vee and Rosa in season 2, and Maureen and Barbara Denning in season 6.
