Chambers will not return for Season 2 on Netflix...
Netflix have cancelled Chambers after just one season on the popular TV network.
Chambers debuted on Netflix this April to critical acclaim. The supernatural drama received widespread praise for its brilliant cast, gripping storylines and centring Native American voices. Sivan Alyra Rose became the first Native American woman to play the lead role in a US TV series. The chilling series told the story of a teenager (Sasha) with a haunted heart transplant. Yesterday (Jun 18), Netflix revealed that Chambers will not return for season 2.
Why did Netflix cancel Chambers?
In a statement about the show's cancellation, Netflix stated: “Chambers will not return for a second season." They then went on to thank all of those involved in making the TV series: "We’re grateful to creator and showrunner Leah Rachel for bringing this story to us and to her fellow executive producers Alfonso Gomez Rejon, Steve Gaghan from Super Emotional, Winnie Kemp and Wolfgang Hammer from Super Deluxe, and Jennifer Yale."
Netflix also singled out the stars of Chambers: "We’re also thankful to the tireless crew, and to our incredible cast, especially Uma Thurman, Tony Goldwyn and talented newcomer Sivan Alyra Rose.” Thurman and Goldwyn are yet to comment on the cancellation but Rose and a legion of Chambers fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment and petition for Netflix to reconsider their decision.

Meanwhile, fans are calling out Netflix for ending such a groundbreaking show.

A reminder that @sivanalyrarose has provided us n8ive kids the representation we so very crave. We don’t see ourselves in media often and when we do our women are killed and our men play “savages”. But we got Sasha Yazzie. More than your colonist stereotypes.

Folks, I'm devastated. This incredible, diverse, native, spectacular cast and amazing premise deserved SO much more. I've yelled at everyone I know to watch it. I hope you'll change your minds, @Netflix & renew #ChambersNetflix. @sivanalyrarose is a Treasure. https://t.co/7Ro58zAsHG
