What a man...
It's no secret that Chadwick Boseman is a living legend. Not only has he played iconic real life roles from Jackie Robinson to James Brown but he's also made history as the titular role in Black Panther. The critically acclaimed Marvel movie is already the ninth highest grossing film ever and is second only to Avengers: Infinity War this year which Chadwick also stars in.

Last night Chadwick took home the Best Superhero award at The MTV Movie & TV Awards. However, instead of making the moment about him, he chose to dedicate his accolade to and share it with James Shaw Jr.. James recently saved the lives of many at The Waffle House in Antioch, Nashville when he tackled a rifle out of the hands of a gunman there.

Accepting his major award, Chadwick said: "Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing, but it's even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life. So I just want to acknowledge somebody that's here today. James Shaw Jr. Where are you? Stand."
He then added: "You didn't even know we were about to do this, did you? If you don't know James Shaw Jr., he fought off a gunman in Antioch, Tennessee, at a waffle house. He saved lives. SO this is going to live at your house. God bless you man."
Not only did James receive a standing ovation from the audience but the internet was quick to shower both him and Chadwick with praise.
Some had to write it down to make sure that it really happened.

We are still coming to terms with the excellence that we witnessed.
There were a lot of things to process to be honest.
Chadwick got on a 3 piece printed fit & it works for him. Also, I’m glad the black superhero won. Then for him to recognize James Shaw Jr. & give him the award. #MTVAwards pic.twitter.com/7O2hjUWHCS

The outfit. The historic importance of the win. The way that he accepted the award. All amazing.
Others pointed out that this is potentially one of the greatest TV moments of all time.
Chadwick Boseman acknowledging James Shaw Jr. and bringing him on stage and GIVING HIM HIS HERO AWARD is the greatest moment I’ve ever seen on television #MTVAwards

Fair. We would usually say that this is an exaggeration but did you watch the clip?!
It was one of the most emotional things we've ever seen on television.
Chadwick shouting out James Shaw Jr. and giving him the award for best hero is making me emotional af 😭😭 pic.twitter.com/wqZw6hn9vi

No. We're not crying. You are.
A few viewers were keen to point out that this award was the first award that Chadwick has ever received as T'Challa and he gave it to someone else because he is so selfless and wonderful.

What a man.
In fact, one or two people argued that he has even honoured James' heroism even more than Donald Trump has.
Chadwick did more for James than the damn President smh #MTVAwards

Nothing but respect for OUR president.
Seriously, what did we do to deserve Chadwick and James? Not content just with giving James a shoutout on TV, Chadwick took to Twitter to do so too.
🍿🍿🍿 and more 🍿… THANK YOU #MTVAwards! #BlackPanther fans, you’re incredible. During the show, I was honored to meet @JamesShawJr9. He saved countless lives by tackling a gunman who opened fire on people in Antioch, Tennessee in April. He’s a true hero that walks among us. pic.twitter.com/bIF8vOk3v3
