Where did Bran go during the Battle of Winterfell? His warging has sparked a Game of Thrones theory

This article is nothing but spoilers, so look away now if you've not seen S8, E3.
Last night during Game of Thrones, the Battle of Winterfell kicked offff and everyone fought the fight of their lives in a bid to save humanity from becoming zombified creatures.
But while the likes of Brienne of Tarth, Jorah Mormont, Jaime Lannister and little Lyanna gave it their all, one character's performance in the battle was...how should we put it...a little lacklustre. We are, of course, talking about Bran Stark.
But what exactly was he doing during the Battle of Winterfell? Let's have a look...
What was Bran doing during the Battle of Winterfell?
As was revealed in episode 2, the battle plan was to place Bran Stark in the courtyard (no, not that one) by the Weirwood Tree, to lure the Night King away from the Army of Dead and the other White Walkers.
Alongside him stood Theon Greyjoy on his apology tour, and the Iron Born, who planned to protect the only surviving Stark male from his gory end.
In exchange for Bran's life, we saw our beloved Theon bite the dust (well, snow), as the Night King shafted him with his spear. The Night King was then killed by Arya Stark and order was restored.
Before all of that though, Bran said a few touching words to Theon (as much as is possible for Bran). He then starts warging.
When he comes back from his trip and the Night King has arrived, he says: "Theon, you’re a good man. Thank you."
What does Bran warg into?
While it was difficult to see, Bran actually warged into a flock of ravens, who scouted the land for the approach of the White Walkers and the Army of the Dead.
The reason many fans are speculating about Bran's whereabouts in the Battle of Winterfell, is because he was warging for some time - right up until the point the Night King stood before him.
So did he really spend all that time looking out for their approach or was he up to something else?
Here's a Game of Thrones Reddit theory:
While it's not a new theory that Bran Stark is actually the Night King, it's definitely one that fans just cannot drop - despite the fact that Arya killed him in this week's episode.
One Reddit fan, called ColdBeing, simply couldn't believe that we've seen the last of the Night King, and claims that when Bran went warging, he in fact made a deal with the Night King.
They wrote: “Why else was Bran warged for so long? Could it be going back in time to prevent all this bloodshed? Could he have been making a deal with the Night King?”
Going on, the Reddit user speculated that Bran imparted a bit of his soul on the Night King and vice versa (very Harry Potter-esque).
“When the Night King walked up to Bran, he looked like he accepted his fate. I just feel like the Night King is Bran. The Night King was going to kill Bran to destroy himself,” they went on.
“I mean the way the Night King just looked at Bran, it felt like he had to do it when he didn’t want to. Arya ruined the plans for Bran.
“After all this and then they’re already going to battle with Cersei? Something just doesn’t feel right.”
We hate to admit it, but it does seem a little fishy that it's all done and dusted.
