With a score of 100%, you really should run to your nearest cinema to check this one out.
It is official - the best reviewed movie of all time is about a CGI bear with a heart of gold trying to track down a pop up book he wants to give his Aunt Lucy as a birthday present.
Yep, Paddington 2 is now the fourth movie ever to get 100% on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.
PADDINGTON 2 - Official Film Trailer (International)
With 165 reviews, it has now surpassed Lady Bird as the best reviewed film ever recorded by the website.
Director Paul King was delighted by the news, talking to Rotten Tomatoes about the secret behind the feel-good movie's success:
"The Paddington films are a real labour of love. So many people pour their hearts and souls into them for months or even years, hand-crafting every last frame, and we are all incredibly grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve had so far. We hope it inspires people to go to the cinema to see for themselves if a talking animal film really can be any good, and whether Hugh Grant really can look devilishly handsome even while dressed as a nun. (Clue: yes.)"
Btw, for the uninitiated, Paddington 2 really is amazing and you all must go and see it as soon as possible. We aren't paid to say that. We just loved it that much.
Well done little bear!
