Ashley Benson Revealed She Went "Bald" While Filming 'Pretty Little Liars'

Ashley reportedly lost some of her hair during filming for the third seasons of the show.
Ashley Benson had a lot of hair changes over the course of the seven years she played Hanna Marin on Pretty Little Liars and it might seem all glitz and glam having your hair and make-up done by professionals every single day but it turns out, that is not the case. Not the case at all.
In an interview with Elle, Ashley revealed the damage that was caused while she was bleaching her hair during the third season of the show. The upkeep on Hanna's locks was reportedly so heavy that she actually lost her hair and was "bald" for a minute during the filming process.
"I bleached my hair so much during season three and it fell right off and you couldn't even tell," she said. "I got a call from Warner Bros. like, 'You need to do something with your hair,'" and I’m like well, duh, I’m bald! Bleaching my hair was my biggest regret."
She's right though, we couldn't tell at all. And we never even knew until now! And her hair wasn't the only struggle Ashley had with while filming PLL - she also had issues with the sheer amount of make up that she had to wear everyday.
"On PLL, I was always all dolled up but I am not that girl," she said. "I try to be but I like to be as comfortable as possible and I feel my best when I’m more downplayed. We wore pounds of makeup on the show, like it was actually horrendous how much makeup we wore. You could scratch off the makeup and get it in your nails. By season seven, I went back to being super natural, which is when I felt the most comfortable and that was my favorite look."
Riverdale's Lili Reinhart also recently opened up about her decision to start doing her own make up on set after feeling the effects of having heavy make up applied to her face every day.
"I do my own makeup for the show this season," she writes "We have a head of makeup and she's great, but I know my skin better than anyone else and I know what works. Riverdale is such a perfect world that my skin has to look perfect, so I cover my breakouts; it's just the aesthetic of the show, which can be hard."
Suddenly we're glad we don't have to deal with that everyday.
