Katy Keene star Ashleigh Murray reacted to 13 Reasons Why actress Grace Saif quitting social media. In her response to the news, Ashleigh revealed that she faced racist trolling after Archie and Josie got together in season 3 of Riverdale.
Ashleigh Murray spent three seasons playing the talented Josie McCoy on Riverdale before departing last April. The actress will no doubt blow us all away when she returns as Josie in the new Katy Keene series, coming to the CW in 2020.
It's hard to imagine hating Josie, but Ashleigh recently revealed that some fans can be incredibly cruel. While speaking out in response to the news that 13 Reasons Why actress Grace Saif was recently bullied off of social media, Ashleigh Murray revealed that she's also been subjected to racist bullying while on Riverdale.

People have literally called me a monkey, trash, sloppy, classless darkie and told me to jump in an oven because....Josie kissed Archie.

So, yeah, don’t blame her. https://t.co/IVIDzz1VTJ
The actress quote tweeted a news story about Grace Saif and added: "People have literally called me a monkey, trash, sloppy, classless darkie and told me to jump in an oven because....Josie kissed Archie. So, yeah, don’t blame her."
Josie and Archie had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it romantic arc in Riverdale season 3. Archie and Josie became close in her final season, but the pairing only lasted a few episodes. That short arc did, however, last long enough to draw the ire of some abusive trolls, according to Ashleigh.
Grace Saif's character on 13 Reasons Why, Ani, has faced an incredible and inexplicable amount of criticism on a show that has multiple rapists and murderers for characters.
Unfortunately, because of their dislike for Ani, people have been bullying Grace. Her 13 Reasons Why cast mates recently called out trolls who have been abusing the actress.
With Ashleigh revealing the uncalled for and, frankly, racist comments she received for the Archosie arc on Riverdale, it's no wonder that Grace simply chose to leave social media entirely.
No matter how you feel about a character, taking it out out on an actor or sending them abusive messages is never okay.
