Brand new teasers and posters have also been released for season eight, which will now be known as 'AHS: Apocalypse'.
American Horror Story season 8 is less than two months away from hitting our screens and the fandom literally cannot wait. It's already been announced that this season will indeed be the highly anticipated Murder House/Coven crossover season and now the official theme for the season has just been revealed and it sounds HUGE.
Production is well underway on the season; Evan Peters, Billy Eichner, Billie Lourd, Dame Joan Collins, Leslie Grossman and Sarah Paulson have all been spotted on set shooting the show. Fans have already spotted fake dead bodies and huge crowds running away from something on the street - but what exactly? Well, the brand new title of season might explain a lot...

The title and brand new key art for the season was unveiled at San Diego Comic Con on July 19 but what does it all mean? And what the bloody hell do all the witches have to do with the apocalypse?
Well, judging by that creepy demon hand, and that very very particular shade of red, it looks like we'll be diving right back into the world of Murder House and the characters that were left alive at the end of the season - namely Michael Langdon, the son of Vivien Harmon and Tate Langdon, who in case you forgot is the goddamn anti-Christ.
Murphy has previously stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the premise for the crossover season would feature "a character from Season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of Coven, which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy."
But where does the "apocalypse" part come into everything? Well, when Murphy revealed the time period for which the new season would be set, he urged the audience to look up what would be taking place 18 months from now in October 2019.
Reddit user Gato1980 pointed out that “October 6th will be the 58th anniversary of President Kennedy telling Americans to build nuclear bomb shelters. I know it’s kind of a stretch and probably not right, I just thought it might have something to do with the ‘Nuclear’ title of the season that’s been floating around,” they wrote. According to Politico, they're absolutely right.
So, if all of what Murphy has said in the past is still happening, it looks like we could have some type of nuclear fallout situation, which involves the anti-Christ (who would be around 7 or 8 years old in the show's timeline) and a bunch of witches. I know it's said every year but this season really might be the BEST one yet.
