Stefflon Don is being criticised for a fake arrest video she posted on Instagram during Juneteeth holiday.

Steff – born Stephanie Victoria Allen – shared a clip of herself getting "arrested" on Instagram. In the post, the 'Boasty' rapper gets handcuffed by a white police officer whilst screaming "Black Lives Matter".

It appears Steff was actually on set of her new music video 'Phone Down' at the time, where she goes on the run from the police after stealing some money. She's also wearing the same outfit as the one she wore in the music video.

Stef captioned the video: "Bloodcart mi get lock up Black Lives matter," alongside a crying emoji. The post immediately received a lot of backlash in the comment section and has now been deleted.

What is Juneteenth?

People didn't like that she had shared the clip on Juneteenth, an American holiday on June 19 that marks the abolition of slavery in Texas, US, and the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America. Someone even commented that it was the "worst timing" and Steff replied: "tell America y'all need a new president." Um…

Another thing people took issue with is that she used Black Lives Matter for comedy. The movement campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people, particularly police brutality. Considering all that has happened involving police brutality in America, Steff was accused of being "insensitive" to the issue especially because she's British.

Whew, people were really dragging her...

Steff has now responded to the backlash beneath her post. The comment, which was captured by TheShadeRoom, read: "Guys get your sensitive ass out of my comments plz about Black Lives ain't no joke who the fun sat it was ? And if you ain't physically done nothing about it then definitely don't say nothing because you don't really care, you think typing on Insta will solve our problems lol.

"Educate your self. By the way slavery ain't no joke either but you still tune in to watch the movie that makes the same white man who enslaved you money and you applaud it and they get awarded for it now go underneath the real enemies comments not mine."
