Ozuna confirms he was extorted with an "intimate video" of him as a minor

Ozuna has revealed in a press statement that he was extorted with an explicit video of him as a minor.
Speaking to Billboard about the incident, the Puerto Rican reggaeton superstar's label and management said: “Our attorney confirmed yesterday that urban artist Ozuna was extorted through an intimate video filmed when he was a minor. This video was edited with the objective of causing even more damage." Ozuna was allegedly just 16 years old in the video.
"[During] the time of the extortion scheme, we filed a complaint and all the legal measures are being taken, as sending and publishing videos of minors is a state and federal offense… We hope that this will serve as an example and message to all teenagers and adults to protect their privacy and avoid these things so as to [avoid] such regrettable situations."
Ozuna has also personally apologised: “Like many young people, I made a mistake, fueled by ignorance. Today, I’m not only sorry for what happened, but I condemn it. That’s why I looked for help and I am certain everything will be cleared. Likewise, I’m following the process and am always willing to collaborate with authorities to prevent the evil that resulted from this big mistake."
The 26-year-old finished his apology by saying: "More importantly, I ask my family for forgiveness. They are my life’s priority and I will continue to fight for them always.” According to El Nuevo Día, Ozuna first reported the situation to the FBI and Miami Police Department in 2017. Ozuna's lawyer Antonio Sagardía claims that Kevin Fret was behind the extortion.
Kevin Fret is famous for being one of Latin trap's first openly gay stars. Fret reportedly had a video of Ozuna performing a sex act as a minor and was allegedly blackmailing Ozuna for $50,000 dollars. It is unclear if the video involved Fret or not. The late rapper was shot on January 11th and his murder is still being investigated.
With regards to Fret's death, Sagardía has stated: “Ozuna is not a suspect."
